You’ll create your job listing by following the easy-peasy instructions, sharing all of the info a salon assistant needs to know to best help you.

3. Book the right-fit assistant

Salon assistants in your area will apply to your job and you can accept the one(s) that’s just right. You’ll also be able to request assistants directly. Once your job is filled, any assistants who applied or others you requested will be notified that the job has expired.

4. Pay, share feedback, and review

After the job is done, you’ll pay your salon assistant through DoubleBook (well, technically, Stripe) and leave them a public review to help grow their credibility. (They’ll also review you, too!)

You’ll browse available jobs in your area and receive job requests from salon professionals. After checking out the job details and learning more about the salon professional, you’ll apply to or accept whichever jobs feel like a “heck yes” to you.

4. Get paid and receive personal feedback

After the job is done, you’ll invoice your salon professional, they’ll pay within 48 hours, and leave a public review for you. You’ll leave them a review, too, so other salon assistants know what to expect when working for them!

I need a salon assistant last minute. Help!

Don’t panic! First, create a job post, like normal. If your job has a same-day or next-day start time, it will automatically appear in the “Last Call” jobs section to all salon assistants near you who can apply directly. Second, we’d recommend sending job requests to salon assistants as well to make sure your job gets picked up fast.

What happens if my salon assistant cancels after accepting my job request?

If your salon assistant cancels on you within 24 hours of the job start time, your job post will automatically be posted on the “Last Call” jobs page and made available to another salon assistant looking to help out ASAP. As for the salon assistant, they’ll receive a strike on their account. After 3 strikes, they’ll be terminated from the platform.

If you cancel on your assistant, you’ll have to pay their hourly rate for 1 hour.

Is it possible to hire more than one salon assistant for a day?

It depends! If you have a solo salon professional subscription, you are only able to book one salon assistant per day. However, if you have a salon team subscription, you are able to book up to 3 salon assistants per day.
